    October 18, 2002 Hey everyone,
Just a few reminders, I'll pick up dramamine for those of you who are afraid of getting sea sick. Also, bring a lunch for the boat and maybe even breakfast. If you have a bucket, bring it to put your fish in that you catch. You should also bring some money other than the $35 because if you lose a hook you need to pay the mate for a new one, i think it's like $1 or something. Also, if you want to eat in the city, after the fishing, before we head back, bring some $.
Oh and dress warm it may be cold in the morning! It's a lot easier to take off some clothes than it is to try to warm back up.
If you have any questions email me, otherwise see you at 2:50am in front of the union by the horseshoe on the steps, we leave promptly at 3.

October 15, 2002 This is the last call for those of you who want to come fishing Saturday, there are still two spots before the cars are filled. So if you want to come, it's first email first serve!
Email me asap if you want in.

October 7, 2002 Also, next Saturday, October 19th, we will be having a deep sea fishing trip. We'll be heading down to Sheepshead Bay, NY (NYC) to go deep sea fishing on a party boat. The boats are usually 100ft long and have a heated/air conditioned cabin. I'll also have dramamine so that no one gets sea sick (it will be on the Long Island sound so the water will NOT be rough at all). You can expect to catch bluefish, flounder, and sea bass most likely. The cost will be $35 per person (less if we have more than 15 people). If you want to come you need to email me by this weekend to reserve a spot, so first come first serve. As always we will need additional drivers other than me, so if you have a car please let me know.
    Thanks!

October 2, 2002 Hey Everyone! The club trip to the NY Aquarium was great last weekend, I'm hoping we can get the pictures up on the webpage soon (Bryan and Danielle if you could send me a copy of your pictures that would be great). Now it is time to think about the next trip. I have a few ideas but I'm always up for ideas. I was thinking
  • deep sea fishing off of the NY/CT coast... usually costs about $35.
  • pumpkin picking before halloween and then apple picking in november.
If you'd be interested in any of these or if you think they're a good/bad idea, please let me know! Thanks.

    January - February 2001
A saturday trip is planned for February 10th 2001.  The club members and their guests will leave RPI around 7am on Saturday morning and head to The New York Aquarium .  We will view in particular their 14,000 gallon reef aquarium.  We will then receive a "behind the scenes tour"!  The tour will include a viewing of their husbandry tanks which contain baby fish and other sea creatures as well as a view of their coral reefs from places the ordinary visitors never see!  Also we will learn about the research that the aquarium is undergoing with their sea life.  This special tour will last from 12:45pm to 2:45pm.  Before and after the tour, feel free to check out their huge shark tank or one of their dolphin and whale shows.  Perhaps you would prefer their new sea horse exhibit?  The choice is yours!  We will leave the aquarium at 4:30pm to head back to RPI.  Everyone member or not is welcome to come!  RSVP as soon as possible however as there is a 35 person limit!

If you are interested in attending and are not a member or a guest yet please contact club president Nick Allers at allern@rpi.edu

The trip was a complete success and a blast!  To see some other pictures go here -> NYC Pictures!
